This workshop will provide you with confidence to help young people understand their chronology and life path into care. Children who are care experienced are all impacted by varying degrees of Trauma from their lived experiences during early childhood. Developmental trauma forms and shapes how children and young people understand who they are in the world. Care experienced children all have their own trauma timeline, which impacts on how they emotionally connect or protect themselves. We will help you consider this timeline for the children you are working with.
Join us to explore with curiosity, ways to support and build connections which will give you the confidence to undertake courageous conversations with children to help them understand their own life experiences and find ways to manage and cope with the emotional impact this has had so that we can break down their wall of protection.
We will share Steven's Story and work through his trauma from in utero to permanence while exploring direct work and tools you can utilise to help Steven at every stage. We will consider activities that will enhance conversations to support him to understand his life journey in a fun and meaningful manner, helping you expand your own creative toolbox.
We all have a Steven and we all hit that wall where we need some creative new ways to break it down and make the sessions fun and interesting. .
